Hitotsubashi University established the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Studies (HIAS) in 2014 with the aim of strengthening a worldwide research network of social sciences and serving as a hub of the research network.

We will have an opening in any field of economics for two postdoctoral fellows who are expected to engage in research along this principle of the HIAS, actively interact with Hitotsubashi faculty and graduate students, and produce research output in the frontier of economics. There are no teaching obligations. Applicants should have received a Ph.D. within the last 3 years, or are expected to receive it within 6 months after the hiring. The HIAS postdoctoral fellow will be employed as a university contract faculty member under the university’s employment rules and regulations. Appointment will be for one year with the possibility of renewal for another year. Applications will be reviewed beginning April 1; we accept applications until the position is filled.
