The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Banking Research Department has an opening for the position of Economist or Senior Economist. The position's primary responsibilities are to conduct banking and financial policy-oriented research for academic journals and the Bank's Economic Review, provide analysis and advice for Bank management on banking and financial market conditions and policy issues, and provide speech support to senior officers. Candidates with a doctorate in Economics or Finance, with an emphasis in banking, and a strong interest in advising senior Bank officials and publishing research in leading journals on banking and financial market issues relevant to the Federal Reserve are encouraged to apply.

This position requires access to confidential supervisory information, access to which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined by regulation of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent resident aliens (also known as "green card holders") who are eligible for and seeking United States citizenship within the requisite timeframes."
