Avant Energy seeks to hire a Senior Analyst to join our company as a key advisor to senior management on electricity markets, including economics, structure and the regulatory environment. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with 2 to 5 years of energy market experience and an advanced degree to make important contributions to the formulation of tactics and strategy for Avant Energy and its clients.

Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will monitor markets and the key regulatory bodies (e.g. the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission or FERC and the Midcontinent Independent System Operator or MISO) in order to identify the prospects of changes in regulations and other market related developments, and track final rule-makings. An active role in MISO committees and in-depth reviews of committee proceedings and announcements, combined with other forms and methods of market monitoring and analysis will ensure that the Senior Analyst can keep senior management apprised of key market developments and identify the potential market impacts (prices, volumes, volatility, structure, etc.)

Qualifications
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience
• Master’s degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Environmental & Energy Economics, MBA, or equivalent
• Computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent writing skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Compensation
Compensation includes a competitive base salary and an opportunity to earn an annual bonus. Our benefits package includes full medical, dental & disability insurance.
