Full Text of JOE Listing:

Berry College invites applications for an innovative, visionary, and strong leader to serve as the Dean of the Campbell School of Business beginning summer 2016. Established in 1902, Berry College is a comprehensive liberal arts institution with an enrollment of approximately 2,100 undergraduates; it offers an education that combines academic excellence with practical work experience in a residential setting that celebrates service and spiritual commitments. The college is located in Rome, Georgia, 65 miles northwest of Atlanta and 65 miles south of Chattanooga. With a campus that spans more than 26,000 acres, Berry is one of the most scenic colleges in the nation.

The Campbell School is accredited by AACSB and is one of the four schools that comprise the college. The School prepares students for life by combining a strong liberal arts education with advanced preparation in business and economics. Approximately 370 students major in undergraduate programs in accounting, creative technologies, economics, finance, management, and marketing. The School also offers an MBA program.

Reporting directly to the Provost, key responsibilities of the Dean include building and maintaining relationships with alumni, the business community, industry partners, donors, and the school’s other stakeholders; providing leadership and effective support for faculty-led assessment and enhancement of student learning; promoting and facilitating faculty development and student enrollment and retention; and managing the school’s administrative and financial matters. The Dean is expected to collaborate with department chairs and other school deans in developing strategic initiatives that build on the School’s strengths in the context of a comprehensive liberal arts institution. The successful candidate will also lead ongoing AACSB and SACSCOC accreditation efforts.

This position requires an earned terminal degree in a discipline relevant to the academic programs of the Campbell School of Business, leadership experience in higher education, and a record of scholarship, teaching and service. In addition to these minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will have academic qualifications sufficient for appointment to the rank of full professor along with demonstrated senior-level leadership success in higher education, preferably at a liberal arts institution.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the names of three references to CampbellDeanSearch@berry.edu

The position is open until filled, but a review of applications will begin January 15, 2016.
