The Department of Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for two Postdoctoral Fellowship positions. One position is centered in the Howard University Center of Excellence in Housing and Urban Research and Policy (CHURP) and the second position in the Center on Race and Wealth. Fellows will have the opportunity to teach, but teaching is not a requirement. We seek outstanding applicants with demonstrated research interests in issues of Race, Disparity and Equity in Housing, Community Health and Development, and Inequality in U.S. and abroad, with specific interests in economic issues impacting African American and African/African diasporic communities. The fellows will pursue individual research in these areas and/or collaborate with faculty and research fellows on research projects leading to journal publications. The initial appointments will be for two years with the option to renew for a third year. The positions are funded by 3-year grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Sloan Foundation.

Required Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in economics or related fields with experience in data science and machine learning from an accredited institution;
• Experience in programming or statistical tools, including R, Python, GIS and Stata;
• Record or promise of scholarship, teaching, and professional service commensurate with the postdoctoral level;
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
