The Center for the Study of American Democracy at Kenyon College invites applications for a two-year residential postdoctoral fellowship for the academic years 2022-23 through 2023-24, with a start date of either August 2022 or January 2023 that explores the nexus between market and society and the role of markets in economic and political development. Candidates with Ph.D.’s in economic history, economic sociology, new institutional economics, political economy, public policy, or similar field are encouraged to apply. The Fellow will be jointly appointed in an appropriate affiliate department, teach one course per semester, advance their research, and assist the Center’s activities. The Fellow should hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. A complete application will be composed of 1) a one-page cover letter that describes the applicant’s interest, research agenda, and experience teaching diverse groups of students; 2) an 8-10 page writing sample; 3) a one-page course proposal for an undergraduate course in their area of expertise 4) a Curriculum Vitae; 5) an unofficial transcript; and 6) two (2) letters of recommendation, one of which must directly address the applicant's teaching ability. Review of applications will begin May 31, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled.
