Athabasca University’s Faculty of Business (AACSB accredited) is home to the world’s first online MBA, now one of Canada’s largest MBA programs for executives with students located across Canada and around the world. The program is delivered online through a stimulating and highly collaborative learning environment. In 2009, Athabasca University’s Faculty of Business also launched an online Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program, the first of its kind in Canada.

Successful candidates for part-time teaching positions will hold a doctoral degree in economics, finance, or a related discipline and have a combination of relevant teaching experience and research. Applicants should have an awareness of industry affairs. Industry or managerial experience is desirable, although not necessary. Applicants must be skilled in the use of computing technology and demonstrate an ability to employ innovative teaching approaches in an online learning environment.

The online courses in the areas noted above run in a paced environment but asynchronously, which means teaching is possible from the candidate’s location at any time. These courses are delivered through “virtual classrooms.” Student-teacher interaction on a “daily” basis and frequent quality feedback to enable rapid progress of understanding are essential pillars of our online teaching model. Successful candidates will share the excitement of advancing technological innovation in graduate business education through the global delivery of online business management courses. Full training and mentoring are provided.
