Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Max Bell School of Public Policy invites applications for a tenure-track position in economic policy related to the issues of energy transition and climate change. Candidates should have demonstrated success in policy-relevant scholarship in these areas and have experience in practical policy development, analysis and/or engagement. The appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position is part of McGill University’s overall strategic objective of enhancing its existing strengths in sustainability and public policy.
The expected start date for this appointment is August 1, 2023. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Duties
Teaching in the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program, conducting policy-relevant research in the areas of energy and climate, and providing academic service within the Max Bell School of Public Policy.
Qualifications
Candidates must have completed their PhD and developed an expertise in policy-relevant research and graduate-level teaching. The ideal candidate should have experience in engaging with policymakers in the development or analysis of policy, and enthusiasm and ability in engaging with media for the discussion and analysis of policy issues. The language of instruction at McGill is English, but a working knowledge of French is an asset.
