Jetson Leder-Luis (BU), David Howard (Emory) and Jon Gruber (MIT) are hiring a 1-year predoctoral fellow at the NBER for work in applied microeconomics with a focus on health. The ideal candidate will have a strong undergraduate training in economics and econometrics, as well as data skills including Stata and R. Prior experience working with health claims data are a plus but not required. The position will run from June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024, with some flexibility on start and end dates. Work will be conducted on-site at the NBER with flexibility. Please upload letters of reference, transcript, CV, and a cover letter.
Applicants should have completed an undergraduate degree in economics, math, statistics, or computer programming, and have advanced programming skills in Stata. Experience in SAS and other statistical software (e.g. R or Python) is preferred. Applicants who will graduate in winter 2023 will be considered. Ideal candidate will have research experience and interest in applied microeconomics. Knowledge of LaTeX, Unix, and applied econometrics is a plus.
