Gettysburg College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Economics. This position will be hired for a three-semester term, starting January 2026. Successful candidates will have experience working with campus partners to integrate their position’s primary responsibilities with creating a campus environment in which all students will thrive.

The successful candidate will teach introductory and intermediate level microeconomics courses, and courses in their fields of interest. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in teaching energy economics or related courses, but other specialties will be considered. We are especially interested in candidates who have a strong public policy focus. The teaching load is the equivalent of 3 courses each semester.

Qualifications
The successful candidate should be committed to teaching in the liberal arts tradition and engage in a program of research that informs their teaching. Applicants must have teaching experience at the undergraduate level in microeconomics and hold a Ph.D. in Economics or expect to complete their Ph.D. by August 2026. Individuals in this position will show evidence or promise of scholarship and/or creative activity.
