I think there should be a general policy that ALL comments made in this forum should be considered to be on background outside this forum. That is, they may not be quoted or cited or referenced in any way. Of course, one always has the option of contacting the person posting directly and getting permission to quote or cite their work. I think this policy should be posted prominently to maximize the freedom to interact without fear of being misunderstood or taken out of comments. Nevertheless, I suggest that everyone write AS IF anything they write can be rebroadcast elsewhere.
