From AEA Committee on Economic Statistics staff:
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is asking the U.S. Office of Management and Budget to approve a renewal of the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) for the period 2020-2022.
So that OMB might make an informed decision, AEA members are encouraged to describe to OMB the value of the ATUS to their research and how it might be improved in the years ahead. Comments are due by September 30, 2019.
The invitation to comment on ATUS for 2020-2022 is available at

AEA members who wish to propose improvements in ATUS are encouraged to contact AEAStat staff member Andrew Reamer areamer@gwu.edu for guidance on improving the likelihood that their proposal will receive a positive response.
The annual ATUS budget is about $5 million, < 1% of the BLS budget.
