Sept 17 -- The NSF National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) has added several functional enhancements to its Interactive Data Tool.  This is release version 3.0. Version 2.0 was released in November 2019 and Version 1.0 in December 2017.

Explore Data -- View metadata and survey source questions by using the Data Explorer. There are four ways to access the Data Explorer.

1. Click on Explore Data from the main menu located at the top of the page.
2. Select a survey by clicking on All Surveys, next to the search bar, or type any word into the search bar to learn more about related topics, values, surveys, and variables. As you type, autocomplete will show you the available items that match your search term. Select one of the available items to continue to the Data Explorer, or press enter to include all the variables.
3. Select a topic tile from under the search bar.
4. Click on Browse all data next to "Don't know what you’re looking for?"

Build Table -- Slice and dice the data to find trends and make comparisons by using the Table Tool. Click on Build Table from the main menu located at the top of the page and select a survey to go straight to the Table Tool.

Public Use Files -- Download raw data for use in other applications by clicking on Public Use Files from the main menu located at the top of the page.
