In December 2020, the HUD Office of Policy Development & Research (PD&R) published HUD Research Roadmap: 2020 Update, HUD’s research agenda and plans to support evidence-based policymaking for the Department. The 104-page Research Roadmap, available at
https://www.huduser.gov/portal/elist/2020-12-10.html, was developed with input and support from practitioners, advocates, researchers, and policymakers at the federal, state, and local levels.
PD&R invites HUD research stakeholders to provide feedback on the research questions, themes, and projects proposed in the Research Roadmap: 2020 Update. Feedback will inform HUD’s development of the Learning Agenda and Annual Evaluation Plans for Fiscal Year 2022 and beyond. In addition, PD&R invites unsolicited proposals to conduct research proposed in the Research Roadmap. HUD is making up to $2 million available for Lead and Healthy Homes Research Partnerships as described under Research Priorities B.5a and b above and approximately $1 million available for Research Partnerships for other topics. Research proposals must provide cost sharing of at least 50 percent of total project cost from philanthropic entities or Federal, state, or local government agencies. Proposals may be submitted at any time up to June 30, 2022 and will be evaluated as they are received. Available funds will be awarded as proposals are received, evaluated, and approved, until funds are exhausted. See
