Full Text of JOE Listing:
The School of Information at the University of Michigan (UMSI) seeks a tenure-track professor at any rank in the area of mechanism design. Mechanism design is the science of designing systems or institutions that align individual incentives with overall system or social goals.

While we encourage applications from both foundational and applied researchers in mechanism design, we are particularly interested in candidates with strong interest and expertise in microeconomic theory or econometrics.

UMSI favors candidates whose research complements our existing expertise in such areas as mechanism design and information economics, both Internet-scale and experimentally generated data, network and text analysis.
Application Instructions:

Candidates should submit a letter of application describing their current research and identifying how their interests clearly fit within the position description and within the broader interests of UMSI, a vita, three letters of recommendation, and representative samples of research output. To be interviewed at the AEA meetings, submit application online by December 1, 2013. The University of Michigan is an equal opportunity/affirmative action educator and employer.
