The Research Department may have openings for economists doing research in any area of banking and finance, especially economists specializing in research on financial institutions or financial contracting. Applicants at all levels of experience will be considered and both theoretical and empirical economists are encouraged to apply. Main responsibilities include actively engaging in academic research for publication in top-tier academic journals; participating in Federal Reserve System projects; briefing the Bank's president on policy issues; and writing nontechnical articles for our Business Review. Excellent research skills are vital, as are good writing and speaking skills. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics or finance or reasonably expect to complete all requirements for the degree by September 2014. Experienced applicants must have a proven ability to publish in academic journals. The Department offers an outstanding research environment and competitive salary and benefits.
