The Health Policy Center analyzes trends and underlying causes of changes in health insurance coverage, access to care,and health care spending by the U.S. population. Many projects are focusing on aspects of the Affordable Care Act related to coverage expansions and delivery and payment system reforms. Researchers address issues that arise from the trade-offs among health care costs, access, and quality. The center's focus has been on Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP public insurance programs that were created to serve elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals, but we also study private insurance markets. We are looking for individuals with strong quantitative research skills and interest in health policy, health services research or health economics. Individuals will have responsibility for conducting empirical studies and policy analyses and writing and presenting reports to academic and policy audiences. Requires strong quantitative skills. Experience using micro-level databases is useful. A combination of the quantitative, analytical, and writing skills, relevant substantive knowledge, and policy research experience needed to perform the duties described above, or the academic knowledge of and research experience in a discipline that is associated with the attainment of the Ph.D.
