The Department of Economics at the University of Mainz, Germany, invites applications for a position corresponding to the assistant professor level. The position is for three years, renewable for another three years, without tenure track. Successful applicant should have a primary research interest in microeconometrics, applied in the areas of labour economics and public economics, with a strong emphasis on structural econometric modeling and evaluation of public policies. A secondary research interest in reduced-form program evaluation methods within a broader area of microeconometric applications (e.g. in labour, public or development economics) is desirable but not required. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Economics completed recently, but not longer than three years ago, and demonstrate high research potential through outstanding dissertation or excellent international publication(s).
Successful applicant will be part of the Mainz labour research group. For more information on activities of the group see: http://www.large.economics.uni-mainz.de.
Teaching duties will amount to four academic hours per week, i.e. around three to four courses per year consisting of 14 lectures of 90 minutes each. All courses at the Master and PhD level are in English. Knowledge of German language is not required for filling the position.
