The Public Utility Research Center (PURC) at the University of Florida is seeking a Senior Economist in Utility Regulation and Strategy to provide leadership in international research and outreach initiatives. The successful candidate will be a key initiator of research on critical policy issues. The successful candidate will serve as an expert resource for regulatory professionals and policymakers, develop a research agenda that informs the academic community and practitioners on emerging issues and best practices, and contribute to interdisciplinary research initiatives. He or she will have strong analytical skills, an advanced degree in economics or a related quantitative field, at least 5 years of experience in the field of utility regulation and policy, and an in-depth knowledge of electricity, water, or telecommunications issues. Ph.D. is preferred, but other degrees will be considered.
