The Montana Institute on Ecosystems invites applications for the position of Environmental Economist. We will consider qualified individuals at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor rank. We seek an individual who can lead basic and applied research that enhances understanding of coupled natural and human systems. The scholar's specific expertise could include but is not limited to such topics as the valuation of ecosystem goods and services; the economics of regional climate change, urbanization, land-use change, and resource extraction; environmental amenity-based economies; and economic-ecological interactions. The individual should be willing to contribute to interdisciplinary team-driven research initiatives, have demonstrated empirical and analytical skills, and be eager to build a nationally competitive research and teaching program that supports undergraduate/graduate education. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower-division and upper-division/graduate courses in their specialty area and contribute to a diverse University community.
