The Department of Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks candidates for a position as both the President of the Nebraska Council on Economic Education and a Professor of Practice (non-tenure track). Academic rank is open. Multi-year contract, renewable subject to performance. The Council is a nonpartisan and nonprofit organization that works to improve the teaching of economics and personal finance from pre-college through adult levels of education. The Council President's responsibilities include writing grants and fundraising, administering programs through centers for economic education in the state, and public outreach and instruction. The Department responsibilities include teaching six hours per semester (mostly introductory economics, but other undergraduate economics courses as needed). Funding for the position is shared by the UNL College of Business and the Council. Position begins August 2014.
Minimum requirements are a master's degree in economics or related field and relevant professional experience.
Ph.D. in economics or related field at beginning of appointment is preferred. Candidates with a demonstrated accomplishment in teaching economics, a record of administering economic education programs, securing grants and other funding are preferred.
