The Departments of Economics and Politics and the Center for Data Science at New York University invite applications for an open rank faculty position to begin September 1, 2014, subject to administrative and budgetary approval.
The ideal candidate will either have earned a Ph.D. in Economics or Political Science and have experience at a high level in some field of Data Science, or have a Ph.D. in a Data Science related field, such as statistics or machine learning, with experience of applying data science to problems in either Economics or Politics. The position will be held jointly between the Center for Data Science and the Department of Economics or Politics. Candidate should be prepared to teach relevant courses both within the Center for Data Science and the Department of Economics or Politics.
