Harvard Professor Amitabh Chandra is seeking a FULL-TIME research assistant for the academic year 2014-2015, beginning in the summer of 2014. Professor Chandra works on cost-growth and technology growth in healthcare,
medical malpractice, racial disparities in healthcare, rare diseases, and the social value of innovation in healthcare.
Responsibilities include performing statistical analyses on large databases, conducting library and online research, cleaning and coding of primary and secondary data sources, tabulation and editing of results, papers and presentations. Expertise in statistical software (such as Stata) and general fluency with software packages and data management is important to this position. Skills in programming languages also a plus.
Position designed for a candidate who wants to become a professional economist, but will consider future Ph.D. candidates in any quantitative field. Although we cannot guarantee a graduate program placement, we have a strong track record of helping talented young scholars to advance.
Start Date: 6/1/2014 (negotiable)
