The Department of Economics at West Virginia University invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time position as Visiting Assistant Professor that may begin as early as August 16, 2014. The appointment will be for two academic years. Applicants should have completed or be nearing completion of a Ph.D. degree in Economics and should have potential for excellence in research and teaching in economics. A successful candidate will be affiliated with the Center for Free Enterprise in the College of Business and Economics. The position has both teaching and research responsibilities. Consideration will be given to candidates' interests in communicating the free-market perspective to a broad audience.
WVU is located in Morgantown, WV and is the State's comprehensive Land Grant University with an enrollment of nearly 32,000 students and a Carnegie Classification - High Research. The Department of Economics is part of the AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics and offers a PhD in the discipline. Morgantown and vicinity has a population of about 62,000 residents and is ranked among the most livable small cities in the country.
