Appointment: Academic Year (9-month) -- Non-Tenure Track

The Department of Resource Economics invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Statistics/Applied Econometrics. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate courses in introductory statistics for business and economics. An ability to teach in both face-to-face and online education formats to students is highly desirable. The successful applicant will become part of a team that will redesign the Department's large lecture introductory statistics courses into a set of smaller sections that follow a blended online/team-based learning model. Applicants are required to have a graduate degree (Ph.D. is preferred) in agricultural/resource/applied economics, economics, statistics or a related field as of June 1, 2014 and expertise in applied statistics or econometrics.
The Department of Resource Economics has 14 faculty members, 300 undergraduate majors, and about 20 graduate students (one-half Ph.D.). We place special emphases on faculty-student interaction and cooperation among faculty. We share a fundamental commitment to teach and attract a diverse student body.
The University is part of the 5-College Consortium in the beautiful Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, with excellent social, cultural, and recreational amenities in a town and rural setting. We are 2 hours from Boston and 3 hours from New York City.
