The Office of Policy and International Affairs, an office responsible for overseeing IP policy and enforcement and leading efforts to strengthen both domestic and international IP protection, at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seeks to fill an economist position. The selected candidate will join the Office of Chief Economist's core team of specialists.
The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting the Chief Economist's team and other subject-matter experts with economic studies and projects related to IP policy, treaties, trade-related matters, and enforcement. Duties include developing econometric models for analyzing microdata, constructing and maintaining databases, developing and programming computer applications in support of research and data analysis, planning and implementing projects concerning IP matters, and presenting results to audiences with limited to extensive expertise in statistics, econometrics, and economics.
