The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is recruiting for the position of Senior Editor. The primary role is to provide editorial support for the bank's research publications including the Economic Review and the Macro Bulletin.

Key Activities:
--Reviews, edits, and/or rewrites economic articles, speeches, and/or other communication pieces to ensure clarity, audience suitability, proper structure, conformation to space constraints, and overall effectiveness.
--Consults with graphic designer to resolve layout issues.
--Coaches senior-level economists and subject matter experts in writing skills. Develops and/or conducts writing seminars for non-professional writers.
--Assist with developing effective planning strategies for writing clear articles and speeches.
--Conducts seminars focusing on the principles of writing clear sentences and paragraphs.

Requirements:
--Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Economics, Business, or Business Writing with editorial experience in business or professional economics publications. Master's degree is preferred.
--At least three to five years of editorial experience in business, professional or academic publications or similar experience in teaching technical writing skills.
--Excellent verbal and written communication, editing, customer relationship, and leadership skills.
--Good coaching skills demonstrating tact and authority.
--Basic knowledge of macroeconomics, banking, financial markets, and monetary policy.
--Excellent understanding of marketing communications, editing, and publications production.
