The Sam and Irene Black School of Business at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College is seeking applicants for a one-year non-tenure track position in economics. A Ph.D. or ABD is preferred (candidates with an appropriate Master's degree and a strong teaching record considered). An ability to teach courses in Intermediate Microeconomics, Regional Economics, Econometrics and/or Managerial Economics is desirable. High-quality teaching is required and an active program of scholarship is expected. The appointment will begin August 2014.
The Sam and Irene Black School of Business is accredited by AACSB International, listed among the Best Business Schools by Princeton Review and offers 9 undergraduate majors, a residential MBA delivered at two locations, a Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc), and a Masters in Project Management (MPM). It is the administrative and academic home of the University's online MBA program through the World Campus which is ranked among the top twenty by the US News and World report. The School has a focus on interdisciplinary programs such as the Interdisciplinary Business & Engineering Studies degree, one of only a few such distinctive programs in the country, the MPM program and an International Business degree which also allows students to specialize in a functional area such as business economics or finance.
Teaching Responsibilities: The appointment will be made at the rank of lecturer or assistant professor depending on qualifications. The teaching assignment is equivalent to 24 credits per academic year.
Research Support: Includes full access to major statistical packages and databases, as well as funded travel to professional meetings.
Salary: Negotiable and competitive with other AACSB-accredited schools of business.
