Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) is a research and consulting firm headquartered in Lexington, Massachusetts with 10 other locations throughout the U.S. Our team of around 400 professionals offers multidisciplinary skills in more than 20 specialized service areas, such as economic, regulatory, and policy analysis; program evaluation and performance measurement; risk assessment; survey design and data management; engineering, and others. We use our expertise in these areas to help clients plan, research, develop, implement, promote, and assess their programs and projects. We also operate and maintain a fully accredited laboratory in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
We have an immediate opening for a Ph.D. (or ABD) economist to join our Economics division to perform policy-oriented research for Federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Health and Human Services (HHS). The work involves supporting a range of public health and worker health and safety projects. Tasks will include researching scientific, technical, and policy topics related to occupational safety and worker exposures; public health; developing predictive and other models of regulatory impacts; collecting and analyzing primary as well as secondary data; and producing well-written reports that clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, motivated, capable of applying analytical concepts to research, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. Relevant academic, government or consulting experience is strongly preferred. ERG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience.
