The Department of Economics at American University invites application for one one-year term position in the economics of gender at the rank of assistant professor, beginning August 2015. Applicants with interests in related fields such as macroeconomics, labor economics, and development economics are encouraged. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointment is a 9-month position and will commence on August 2015. Qualified candidates must have a PhD by August 2015, provide evidence of strong teaching skills and have a demonstrated interest in policy-relevant research. The position will require the incumbent to teach three courses per semester, including introductory macroeconomics and/or microeconomics, as well as intermediate-level theory and economics of gender classes to be taught at the advanced undergraduate or graduate level. Salary is competitive.
