The Earth Institute at Columbia University seeks a Staff Associate to provide research assistance related to understanding the political economy of development, in particular policy interventions that help to reduce poverty, promote economic growth, and develop inclusive, democratic institutions. Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of the political frameworks of developing countries especially related to resource use and conflict. First-hand experience collecting and reviewing economic data. The Staff Associate will provide research support in the areas of data collection, compilation, QAQC and preliminary analysis.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in, political science, public policy, economics or development economics, sustainable development, international studies and other related fields of study and at least four years of related experience are required. Master's degree in a related field may substitute for two years of related experience. Experience with data and econometrics/ statistical packages are also required.

The position is full-time with a full benefit package. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of annual renewal based on performance and the availability of funds.
