Full Text of JOE Listing:
Berlin’s academic research institutions in economics cooperate more and more closely. Three academic institutions in Berlin—the School of Business and Economics at Humboldt-University Berlin (HU), the Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW Berlin) and the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB)—jointly seek to fill several Postdoc positions for 3 years (according to German WissZeitVG - E 13 TV-L HU or E 14 TVöD) (part-time work as well as employment contracts with two of the given Institutions are possible, an extension is only possible for a maximun of six years; at DIW Berlin a tenure track option exists)
Applicants from all fields of economics and finance are invited to apply. Each of the positions will be hosted and administered by one of the three institutions. The search committee consists of staff from each of the three institutions and will consider all applicants for each position. It is possible to split the positions, such that an individual Postdoc researcher can hold two halves of positions at two separate institutions.
Successful candidates at DIW Berlin or WZB will contribute part of their time to long-term research projects, which have a general strong policy context. Successful candidates at HU will contribute part of their time to teaching at the Master and Bachelor level. Successful candidates at DIW Berlin or WZB will contribute to teaching at the PhD level. Teaching at Master and PhD levels is in English. The main focus of all positions is academic research.
Successful candidates should hold a PhD in economics or a closely related discipline. Ideally, candidates should have a strong research interest, educational background and research experience in one or multiple of the following sub-fields: econometrics, economic theory, behavioral and economics, finance, macroeconomics, public economics, industrial organization, energy and climate economics and applied microeconomics.
Applicants should submit a statement outlining their research plans and their motivations for joining at least one of the three institutions, a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of degree certificates, and teaching evaluations if available. Applicants are required to organize the separate submission of two academic letters of recommendation.
Applications and letters of recommendation should be sent online within 3 weeks, stating the reference number AN/130/14

Severely disabled applicants with equivalent qualifications will be given preferential consideration. People with migration background are specifically encouraged to apply.
