Post-Doctoral Position in Economics

The Chair of Economics/Energy Economics (Prof. Sebastian Rausch) has a job opening for a Post- Doctoral position. Our chair is part of the Center for Economic Research at ETH (CER-ETH), the Centre for Energy Policy and Economics (CEPE), which belong to the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC) at ETH Zurich.

Our main focus is on applied economic research in the area of energy and environmental economics. We employ and develop static and dynamic general and partial equilibrium models to analyze short- and long-term energy and economic problems. Economic research is conducted using both economic theory and numerical simulation methods. We evaluate energy and climate policy and develop policy guidelines.

The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. degree in Economics and have a solid background in environmental and/or energy economics. Knowledge of and experience with the analysis of energy markets and policy as well as with numerical simulation tools and economic equilibrium models is of particular value. The preferred candidate has demonstrated through her or his dissertation a high quality of research output, ideally with 1-3 papers under revision or accepted for publication in international refereed journals. She or he is expected to conduct academic and policy-relevant economic research independently and also contribute to research projects at the chair. The appointment includes teaching related to the areas of the chair (teaching assistance for one semester course per year) and tutoring of Master and PhD students. Excellent command of English is required.
