Applications are welcome for three-year post-doctoral positions in Economics in the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg (Sweden). Salary takes the form of a tax-exempt scholarship at a European competitive level. Additional funds are available for travel and shorter visits to other departments. The Department will require involvement in a limited amount of teaching and supervision, the terms of which will be agreed later. Subject to funding and satisfactory performance, the position may be extended by up to three years.
Applicants should hold a recent PhD in Economics, or be close to finishing their thesis. Research potential is our key selection criterion for the advertised positions. Candidates pursuing research topics related to any area of economics, including finance, will be considered.
The application should include a detailed CV with a list of publications/working papers, one electronic job market paper, and the names and addresses of two referees, who should send their recommendation letters directly to recommendation@economics.gu.se. Additional material might be requested. The application must be received no later than December 15, 2014. Please indicate in your application whether you will be available for an interview at the AEA meetings in Boston and/or at the RES job market meeting in London. For shortlisted candidates not going to these meetings, interviews and research presentations will be organized during February and March, at the Department of Economics or via a video link. It is highly desirable that the position is taken up by September 2015, but there is some flexibility.
All application material should be sent by the closing date to: applications@economics.gu.se
