Evidence Action is now accepting applications for its Postdoctoral Research and Policy Fellowship program. The fellowship is a one year term appointment running from mid-2015 to mid-2016, with the precise dates flexible.
Evidence Action is a 501c3 organization headquartered in Washington DC that scales proven interventions that improve the lives of millions. We implement cost-effective interventions whose efficacy is backed by substantial rigorous evidence. Evidence Action identifies innovative, appropriate financing mechanisms and builds best practice operational models. We voraciously self-evaluate, learn, and improve our models for scaling with a commitment to transparency on progress, impact, and value for money. We invite you to learn more about Evidence Action at www.evidenceaction.org.
The focus of this fellowship will be to develop and execute the research and learning agenda around what evidence-based approaches Evidence Action will invest in next. The fellow will work independently and in collaboration with the senior leadership, other researchers at Evidence Action, and our advisors to identify candidate programs for scale up and a learning and research agenda to take a good idea to the next step: a fleshed-out proposal for scale. This could be a completely new initiative or it could be investigating ways to improve our existing programs. This may involve designing data collection strategies, impact evaluations, and engaging in dialogue with experts. Financial resources are available to support this work.
The goal of the fellowship to provide the practical-minded scholar interested in impact on the ground an opportunity to explore the middle ground between good ideas and what gets implemented, and contribute to filling this gap while building up skills and experiences that will serve the fellow well in future positions. The fellow will develop new networks with practitioners, donors, and respected academic partners and friends of Evidence Action while using academic skills to contribute to the mission of Evidence Action. The fellow may continue to pursue an independent research agenda in addition to this work as determined on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We unfortunately will not be able to sponsor work visas.
Evidence Action is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE), adhering to the laws that prohibit discrimination in the terms and conditions of employment.
