The Department is seeking applicants specializing in healthcare economics. A Ph.D. from an accredited institution of higher education is required at the start of employment. Candidates should demonstrate a record of or potential for scholarly research and publication (especially in the field of healthcare economics) as well as potential for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies and delivery modes. Candidates should also demonstrate an ability or interest in teaching in a multicultural and multiethnic environment.

Applicants should have a strong general background in applied microeconomics with a teaching/research interest in public policy. In-depth knowledge of the institutional and regulatory framework and contemporary environment of healthcare system is highly desirable. In addition to the healthcare field, preference will be given to candidates who are also able and willing to teach in a secondary field such as public economics, public policy, or global economics. Successful candidates will demonstrate a potential for excellence in both teaching and research. Publications in refereed journals of quality are required for tenure and promotion.

In addition to teaching, duties include student advisement, engaging in scholarly activity, and committee service for the Department, College of Business & Economics, and the University.
