[Job #7624] Humboldt State University’s Department of Economics invites applications for one temporary faculty position (.96 timebase) in Economics for AY 2014/15. An earned PhD in Economics (or closely related field with considerable graduate coursework in economics) is preferred; applicants with considerable progress towards doctorate degree completion by appointment date considered. Successful candidate will be a versatile generalist with potential to teach a broad range of economics courses that include strong interdisciplinary linkages, and must demonstrate the following: Successful college or university-level instructional experience in economics; potential to teach students from a broad range of majors and levels of academic preparation; commitment to and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds; and potential for effective teaching or teaching experience using a variety of methodologies. Teaching responsibilities may include: Economics of a Sustainable Society; Energy Economics and Climate Policy; Principles of Economics; Contemporary Topics in Economics; Environmental and Natural Resources Economics; and Macro/Money and Banking.
