We seek an applied development economist with substantial experience in econometrics, keen to take a role in advancing our new research programme on “Employment Generation for the Poor: Jobs and Entrepreneurship”. Other research agendas relevant to CMIs profile may also be pursued. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of markets and private sector development in low income settings and a desire to interact with policy makers and disseminate research based knowledge that can be applied in practice.

The aim of the research programme is to generate knowledge on how to generate employment with potential for poverty reduction. It will study the impact of alternative policies and the political constraints for their implementation.

The position will be at mid- or senior level, based on qualifications. Start date: Any time before January 2016. We encourage applications from female candidates.
