Waseda University, a long-established private university located in central Tokyo, invites applications for two full-time, tenured (or tenure-track) positions in Political Science, Economics, or Political Economy in the Faculty of Political Science and Economics.

The successful applicants are expected to teach only for our English-based Degree Program (the "EDESSA" Program). We particularly welcome applications by those who are enthusiastic about taking up the challenge of playing a central role in one of the best English-based degree programs in Japan.

The appointments will be made at the rank of either Professor or Associate Professor, beginning in April 2016 (or September 2016). Please note that at least one of the two positions mentioned above will be a position for political science.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:
(1) Be competent to conduct research in and to teach one or two subfields in Political Science, Economics, or Political Economy.
(2) Be able to teach at least one of the core courses listed below for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

a) Empirical/Statistical Analysis in Political Science
b) Formal Theory in Political Science
c) Methodology of Normative Political Theory
d) Microeconomics
e) Macroeconomics
f) Game Theory
g) Econometrics

(3) Be able to conduct thesis advice/supervision in English at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
(4) Hold a doctoral degree or equivalent professional accomplishment.
(5) Be competent to handle communication in English. Japanese language proficiency is not required.
Note: Preference will be given to those with prior teaching experience of relevant courses in English.
