MNI, a global financial news service, is seeking an economic data reporter for the Washington, D.C. bureau. The ideal candidate will have a BA or BS in economics, statistics, business or related field; experience with all aspects of Excel including creating graphics; knowledge of government and private economic data reports, as well as solid writing, editing and communications skills, and acute attention to detail. Must be a good team player willing to jump in where needed and take on new tasks, who excels in pressure situations and is a multitasker who can fit into a fast-paced newsroom. We thrive on competition but offer a friendly and flexible work environment. Must be able to work legally in the United States.

The primary duty of the economic data reporter is coverage of government and private economic data reports, maintaining Excel spreadsheets and data calendars, conducting surveys and analysis of the data. In addition, the reporter will have the opportunity to cover a wide range of economic issues of interest to financial markets.
