Duties: Reporting to the Academic Director, the incumbent will identify questions and unsettled issues in important areas of public policy including tax, immigration, entitlements, households finance and regulation. Combine insights from economic theory and large data sets to come up with answers where possible. The answers will, in part, help provide advice for a large-scale federal model as well as produce complementary independent research. Must be able to work with a team and under tight deadlines.
This position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: A Master’s Degree or more and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.PhD in Economics (especially applied theory, public economics, labor economics or econometrics) preferred, but strong candidates with MA/ABD degrees will be considered. Excellent research, writing and analytical skills required. Some python and/or C# programming experience desirable. Strong interest in public economics and policy.
