The American Dental Association promotes public health through its initiatives in research, education, advocacy, and public awareness. We are seeking an Economist/Health Services Researcher.
This position is located within the Health Policy Institute, an in-house "think tank" focusing on generating, synthesizing and disseminating policy knowledge on critical issues concerning the health care and dental care system.
This position will lead a policy research work program focusing on understanding labor market choices of dentists.
Requirements:
*Master's degree in economics or health services research fields with a focus in labor economics, econometrics, health economics, applied microeconomics, health policy, health services or research. Ph.D. in economics or other health services research field highly desirable.
*2 years' experience leading health policy research on a wide variety of topics using advanced economic techniques; working with large micro-data sets, designing surveys, sampling frames, cleaning and analyzing primary data.
*Ability to publish original research in top-caliber health policy, labor economics, health services research or health economics journals.
*Ability to write in different styles including academic journals, briefing notes, non-technical summaries for non-researchers, as a team leader and as a contributing member.
*Excellent knowledge of statistical programs including SAS and Stata.
