The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is seeking to fill a position for a Deputy Assistant Director of the Office of Research, to support the Assistant Director in their work leading the Office of Research. As Deputy Research Director, you will manage a highly-skilled, interdisciplinary group of economists and other behavioral researchers who study a wide range of topics, including consumer decision-making, household financial behavior, and markets for consumer financial services.
Applicants should have experience in a senior or leadership position directing and leading a program or group producing technical economic, behavioral science, or policy research. Candidates should have expertise in a related academic field demonstrated through directing and leading the planning, implementation, integration and evaluation of a high-quality research program. Candidates should also have strong management skills, and be able to defend policy and program recommendations to the highest levels of agency management. A successful candidate should have experience that demonstrates the ability to work with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, industry practitioners, attorneys, and other CFPB managers to achieve policy objectives.
