Description: The incumbent has direct managerial responsibility for the development, production, and distribution of aggregate and institution-specific statistics and reports to support:
(1) analysis of financial industry trends,
(2) identification of potentially weak banking organizations and emerging risks to the banking system,
(3) assessment of the efficiency and quality of supervisory efforts to promote the safety and soundness of supervised institutions and the financial system as a whole.
In this role, the Manager oversees the development, maintenance, and operation of complex computer systems. Manages a program involving significant statistical modeling. The Manager has overall responsibility for oversight of the staff and work of the unit.
Skills and experience: Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, or other applicable area, plus seven years of specialized experience. Ph.D. preferred. Must be able to understand and manage the union of communications, administrative, budgeting, and planning skills. Must be able to adapt systems and reports to a changing banking environment, keeping abreast of evolving industry practices, risk measurement techniques, and information technology. Requires extensive knowledge of, and experience with, econometrics or statistics.
