The Department of Managerial Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the KU Leuven has a vacant full-time academic position in the field of Managerial Economics / Industrial Organization.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated researcher with a promising/excellent track record in research in (applied) industrial organization/managerial economics, preferably with applications in the fields of the economics of strategy, political business sstrategy, international business economics, or the economics of science/innovation/entrepreneurship. We particularly welcome affinity with research pertaining to the economics of digital/network markets.

We offer an active and internationally oriented research environment. The qualified candidate will conduct research in collaboration with members of the department and contribute to the department’s research agenda. The candidate is expected to initiate new research projects, attract the necessary research funding, and expand international collaboration. He/she will strive for excellence in research.

The candidate will teach courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level. The specific courses will depend on the profile and experience of the candidate.The candidate is also expected to supervise master theses and to act as an advisor to PhD students.

Interested candidates should hold a Ph.D. in economics or business.

The quality of the candidate’s research should be demonstrated by publications in top international peer-reviewed journals. Junior applicants (pre-tenure) can demonstrate research excellence with promising ongoing research projects, papers and academic references.

The candidate preferably has teaching experience and can demonstrate strong didactic skills.

Proficiency in English is required.

The rank of the position is open (tenure track with evaluation after five years, assistant, associate or full professor with tenure), and will be determined on the basis of the applicant's qualifications.
