The Economics Department at West Virginia University seeks applications for two tenure-track positions at the Associate/Assistant professor level, with at least one position being at the Assistant Professor level. For one position we seek a candidate with teaching and research interests in macroeconomics or development economics or both or related fields. For the second position, we seek a candidate with teaching and research interests in Public Economics or Urban/Regional Economics or Health Economics or related fields. Successful candidates for both positions will be members of the economics department, be expected to produce high-quality scholarship for leading economics journals, serve on dissertation committees, and participate in the department’s PhD program in Economics and teach undergraduate courses. In addition, the successful candidate for an Associate Professor position must have a Ph.D. in economics or a related field and must have demonstrated outstanding research as evidenced by a publications in high quality refereed economics journals and the readiness upon arrival at WVU to direct dissertations. For an Assistant Professor, at a minimum, the successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in economics or a related field by the time of appointment or be close to completing the Ph.D.
WVU is located in Morgantown, WV and is the state’s comprehensive Land Grant University with an enrollment of nearly 30,000 students and a Carnegie Classification of R1 - Highest Research Activity. The Department of Economics is part of the AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics and offers a PhD in the discipline.
