The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) anticipates filling a Ph.D. level economist position in 2017. BEA's mission as a leader in the development of new and innovative approaches to economic measurement is to strengthen our understanding of the U.S. economy by improving GDP and other national, regional, industry, and international accounts data. A successful candidate will conduct independent research on topics of importance to BEA's mission and will be expected to publish that research in professional journals, the Survey of Current Business as well as present the work at conferences. Candidates who have demonstrated experience with applied econometrics are preferred. Starting salaries for experienced Ph.D ranges from $101,000 to $141,000, depending on experience. A curriculum vita, a sample of written work, and three letters of recommendation are required.
