The Department of Economics at Iowa State University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor (tenured or untenured), or Professor (tenured) in Economics. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an innovative research program addressing key issues in international trade with emphasis on agricultural trade and agricultural markets. Areas of interest might include applications to trade policies, climate change, food security, technical change, product quality and development. The successful applicant will be expected to publish regularly in top scholarly outlets, to provide high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to supervise graduate student research. Teaching responsibilities may include courses in agricultural, food and trade policy; international trade; international development; international finance; the PhD microeconomics core; or related areas.
The successful applicant will be expected to seek external grant and contract funding. The department is, separately and synergistically, also looking to hire in a second area of international trade and in the area of risk/commodities.
