The Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI) is an independent, non-profit, research institute located in Washington, DC. Through HCCI’s multi-payer, health care claims dataset, HCCI conducts and promotes research and analysis on U.S. health spending.
HCCI is seeking to hire a Senior Researcher/Researcher to be involved in a wide range of research projects, including analyzing data, writing reports and policy briefs, and co-authoring academic articles. The position reports to the Director of Research.
The position requires a broad range of skills and experience including, but not limited to:
* An understanding of health insurance and the U.S. health care system
* A graduate degree in a field related to health services research, economics, actuarial science, or mathematics
* Experience analyzing health care claims data
* Proficiency programming in SAS and/or STATA and experience with SQL
* Excellent verbal and written skills, especially the ability to write about quantitative findings for non-quantitative audiences
Preferred candidates will have:
* 3 plus years of post-graduate experience
* Produced policy briefs on health care costs and utilization, Medicare, and/or Medicaid
