Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Economics Department at Grand Valley State University invites applications to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. Excellent candidates in any field will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise and experience in applied macroeconomics and/or expertise and experience in empirical microeconomics (preferably with a field in industrial organization) capable of teaching Managerial Economics at the MBA level. Strong econometric skills are desired for both positions. Candidates are expected to have earned their Ph.D. from a respected research institution by August 2017 and demonstrate potential for sustaining a strong research/scholarship stream. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching and willingness to engage in outreach activities with the local business and professional communities. Applicants with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Economics Department has 15 full-time faculty and is part of the AACSB-accredited Seidman College of Business. GVSU has over 25,000 students and is ranked as the third best public regional university in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report. Grand Rapids, the second-largest city in Michigan, is a vibrant, thriving area offering many cultural and leisure activities. Teaching load is three courses per semester.
